What's new for 2026.
The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek introduces the most significant powertrain advancement in the model's history with the debut of a new strong Hybrid system. Unlike the previous low-volume plug-in hybrid, this new system is a traditional hybrid that pairs a 2.5-liter BOXER engine with two electric motors to produce a combined 194 horsepower. This setup offers a substantial boost in efficiency, achieving an estimated 36 mpg combined and a total driving range of nearly 600 miles on a single tank.
