What's new for 2025.
Following the major redesign in 2024, the 2025 Subaru Crosstrek focuses on optimizing powertrain availability and expanding the rugged Wilderness sub-brand. The most significant update for 2025 is the standardization of the 2.5-liter BOXER engine on the Premium trim level, which previously utilized the 2.0-liter engine. This change provides Premium trim buyers with a 30-horsepower increase (182 hp vs 152 hp) and improved torque for better highway merging and towing. The Wilderness trim, which debuted late in the previous year, is now fully integrated into the lineup as the flagship off-road model, featuring 9.3 inches of ground clearance and a 3,500-pound towing capacity. Aesthetic updates are minor, headlined by the addition of the Daybreak Blue Pearl exterior color option. The 2025 model continues to leverage the Subaru Global Platform and the enhanced EyeSight safety suite introduced during the 2024 redesign.
Powertrain
- The 182-hp 2.5-liter engine is now standard on the Premium trim, replacing the 152-hp 2.0-liter engine.
- The 2.0-liter engine remains exclusive to the Base trim level.
Trims
- Full availability of the Wilderness trim, featuring 9.3 inches of ground clearance, Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires, and unique copper-finish accents.
- Wilderness trim features a revised final drive ratio for improved low-speed climbing and a 3,500-lb towing capacity.
Exterior
- New exterior paint color introduced: Daybreak Blue Pearl.
- Wilderness models feature exclusive matte-black anti-glare hood decals and protective body cladding.
Technology
- Expansion of MySubaru Connected Services features, including remote engine start with climate control on more trims.
