What's new for 2026.
The 2026 Subaru Outback marks the debut of the seventh generation, shifting the model's identity from a wagon-based crossover to a more traditional midsize SUV. This complete redesign introduces a taller, boxier exterior profile that significantly increases interior headroom and cargo capacity. The cabin receives a major technological overhaul, replacing the previous vertical screen with a more responsive 12.1-inch landscape-oriented touchscreen powered by Android Automotive software. Notably, Subaru has responded to customer feedback by reintroducing physical buttons and knobs for critical climate control functions.
