What's new for 2017.

The 2017 Subaru Impreza marks the debut of the fifth generation, representing a complete ground-up redesign. It is the first vehicle built on the all-new Subaru Global Platform, which significantly increases structural rigidity by 70% and improves crash energy absorption by 40% compared to the previous generation. The exterior is longer, wider, and lower, providing a more athletic stance and increased interior passenger volume. Under the hood, the 2.0-liter Boxer engine receives direct injection for the first time, bumping output to 152 horsepower. Inside, the cabin is completely overhauled with higher-quality materials and the introduction of the STARLINK multimedia system, which now features standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across all trim levels. Safety technology is also expanded with the addition of Reverse Automatic Braking and Steering Responsive Headlights on higher trims.

Redesign

  • Introduction of Near Field Communication (NFC) for easier Bluetooth pairing.
  • Available 6.3-inch color multifunction display for vehicle status and safety alerts.

Safety

  • Updated EyeSight Driver Assist Technology suite with improved camera performance.
  • New available Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB) to detect obstacles while backing up.
  • Introduction of Steering Responsive Headlights (SRH) that aim into corners as the driver turns.
  • Standard Rear-Vision Camera across all models.

Trims

  • New Sport trim level added, featuring 18-inch wheels, sport-tuned suspension, and Active Torque Vectoring.
  • Limited trim elevated with leather-trimmed upholstery and LED Steering Responsive Headlights.

Exterior

  • New 'Konohana' design language with a more sculpted body and signature hexagonal grille.
  • Introduction of Active Grille Shutters on Sport and Limited trims to improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.
